Professional Liability Roundtable

IADC President-Elect Molly Craig and Program Chair Mike Sullivan were pleased to welcome almost 100 participants to the IADC Professional Liability Roundtable held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at New York University School of Law in Greenwich Village. The new venue was well received by all, and may well have found its way into the permanent rotation.

The theme for this year’s Professional Liability Roundtable was Managing the Tripartite Relationship. The sessions proved informative and interactive. The audience was engaged the entire afternoon, and there was much back and forth discussion of the issues that are common to all of our practices.

Presenters included Meredith Kaplan Stoma from Morgan Melhuish Abrutyn, in Livingston, New Jersey, Rebecca Toffolon from CNA Lawyers Professional Liability Claims in New York, David Anderson of Collins Einhorn Farrell P.C. in  Southfield, Michigan, Gary Schmidt from Aspen Insurance Group, Bryan Jordan from Zurich North America, Barry Kaiman from the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, Kim Hogrefe, worldwide Claim Technical Officer for Chubb, and Tom Auth, Senior Claims Counsel for Minnesota Lawyers Mutual.

This is the tenth year for the Professional Liability Roundtable, which rotates between New York and Chicago.  Plans are already in place for next year’s event, which will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the University of Chicago’s downtown Booth School of Business.

The Professional Liability Roundtable has been a unique program for the IADC, combining an outstanding educational opportunity with the kind of networking and interaction between industry professionals and outside counsel that only the IADC can provide.
