Andrew Kopon Jr. and John T. Lay Jr. Appointed to Lead the Corporate Counsel College in 2021 and 2022

The IADC is pleased to announce that Andrew Kopon Jr. and John T. Lay Jr. have been appointed as Dean for the Corporate Counsel College in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Andrew Kopon Jr. is a founding partner of Kopon Airdo, LLC. He served as the President of the IADC in 2017-2018. His practice focuses on the defense of complex civil litigation matters. Mr. Kopon’s active trial practice is in a variety of areas including class actions, MDL litigation, product liability, and employment law matters. He is a charter member of the Illinois Leading Lawyers Network Advisory Board whose members are selected based upon their reputation and professional ethics. He has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer for 2020 and in multiple prior years. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees for Loyola Academy located in Wilmette, Illinois.

Mr. Kopon will be the 2021 Dean of the Corporate Counsel College.

John T. Lay Jr. is a partner at Gallivan, White & Boyd, PA in the firm's Columbia, South Carolina office. Mr. Lay's practice focuses on business litigation, class action and mass torts, false claims act, legal malpractice, and product liability. He has been recognized extensively by his peers in such publications as Best Lawyers, Chambers USA, Who's Who Legal, Benchmark Litigation and Super Lawyers. He has been ranked in the South Carolina Top 25 Lawyers by Super Lawyers for a number of years. He is also a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a past president of the IADC.

Mr. Lay will be the 2022 Dean of the Corporate Counsel College.
