Past President Craig A. Thompson, a partner at Venable LLP, was recently elected as chair of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation Board's Executive Committee. The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Board, and members include the chairs of the foundation committees, the executive officers of the board, and other persons as the chair of the board may appoint. In addition, the President of the Foundation (Vice President of University Relations), the Vice President/Secretary of the Foundation (Assistant Vice President of University Relations), the Chief Financial Officer (Assistant Vice President for Administration for University Relations), and the President of the University of Maryland shall serve as ex-officio members of the Executive Committee.
Craig will serve for two years in this role, and then will be elevated to Chair of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation Board of Trustees.
