Continuing an IADC Conversation About Becoming an Active Ally With a Focus on Jewish Allyship: How to Get Involved, Stay Involved, and Educate Others About Equality and Social Injustice

Thursday, November 19, 2020
01:30 PM - 02:30 PM Central Standard Time (US & Mexico)

Please join the IADC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for a panel discussion.

Join the IADC at 1:30 p.m. CDT on Thursday, November 19 for a continuation of our diversity, equity, and inclusion discussions focusing on identifying ways each of us can become more than allies in the fight for equality and social justice. This discussion will focus on the concept of religious equality and the experiences of our Jewish members. Blatant acts of Anti-Semitism have increased exponentially over the past several years. Jews around the world continue to be targets of hate speech and violent behavior such as the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue massacre and the Paris market shootings. Seventy-five years after the Holocaust, some people continue to deny that it happened, and many Jewish people still feel that they are not welcome in certain places or that their last name and cultural heritage can make them the next target of even Hollywood sport celebrities. This program will be a conversation that will include personal stories and concrete action items that will allow you to educate yourself and make changes in your community and your workplace to better support your Jewish friends and colleagues.
