Catastrophic Thermal Battery Failures in Vaping Devices and in Pockets: Why Do They Happen?
Exponent has investigated hundreds of battery failures in electronic cigarette and vaping devices. Dr. Troy Hayes and Dr. Jessica Piper will describe some of the most frequent failure modes they have observed during these investigations, including the root causes of the failures as well as contributing factors that may have led to the failures. This Webinar is intended to provide some background on lithium ion battery technologies, use of lithium ion battery cells in electronic cigarette devices, and why such batteries have been failing during use, handling, or abuse.
This Webinar will provide attendees valuable insight into the technology and causes of failures when dealing with cases involving thermal battery failures in electronic cigarette and vaping devices.
