Emerging Trends in Slack-Fill Litigation
Frustrated by the appearance of a product’s packaging compared to the quantity of the product within, consumers and local governmental entities have filed slack-fill lawsuits against manufacturers across the country. This Webinar is designed to provide an overview of these lawsuits. Michael C. Zogby, William A. Hanssen, and Katherine McBeth of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP will explore the connection between the federal prohibition against nonfunctional slack-fill and states’ consumer protection laws as well as when and how courts have addressed challenges to plaintiffs’ claims. IADC members will learn strategic defenses and best practices manufacturers can follow to avoid becoming targets of slack-fill lawsuits.
