The Legal Risks of Biometric Data Usage

Using biometric data is almost a daily and commonplace feature as companies use a variety of biometric tools like fingerprinting, scans (e.g., retina, iris, and hand geometry), as well as facial recognition software. Significant legal risks and increasing and pending litigation, including class action litigation involving a variety of employers and industries, have followed the usage of biometric data. Join us as we discuss the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”) and learn practical tips for reducing risks and substantial damages.
