IADC member Steven W. Quattlebaum, a partner at Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC, and Julia Romano, a partner at King & Spalding LLP, achieved a defense verdict in favor of Johnson & Johnson in a talcum powder asbestos exposure case, George Crudge, et al. v. Armcord Inc., et al., in the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles. Johnson & Johnson was the only defendant at trial. After deliberating roughly one day following a three-week trial, the jury found that the plaintiff was not exposed to asbestos by his use of Johnson’s Baby Powder. The plaintiff was claiming that his pleural mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the lungs often associated with asbestos exposure, was caused by his use of Johnson’s Baby Powder. The trial was conducted from September 20, 2019 to October 11, 2019.

Assisting on the case were associates Brittany Ford of Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC, and Stacy Foster, Nicole Fukuoka, and Carter George of King & Spalding LLP.  Mr. Quattlebaum and Ms. Ford are located in the Little Rock, Arkansas office of Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC.
