Christopher C. Lam, managing partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina, secured a complete dismissal of all claims and crossclaims from a New Jersey court against his Fortune 200 manufacturer client. After three years of contested litigation in this commercial dispute in which plaintiff sought damages into seven figures, Chris and his team first obtained summary judgment in the client’s favor in April on all but one of plaintiff’s claims and all but two of the co-defendant’s crossclaims. They then filed a motion for reconsideration, arguing the remaining three claims should likewise be dismissed as a matter of law. The co-defendant also filed a cross-motion for reconsideration seeking to have its crossclaims reinstated. One week before trial was scheduled to start, the Court entered an order granting Chris’s motion and dismissing all claims against Chris’s client with prejudice.
