Mica Nguyen Worthy, partner at Cranfill Sumner LLP, has been named Chair of the firm's Aviation Law Practice Group. Mica is a Partner based in the firm’s Charlotte office and is also Chair of the firm’s International Business Law Practice Group. Mica replaces Susan Hofer who previously served as Chair of the Aviation Law Practice Group before her retirement in 2023 and together with Worthy have grown the Aviation Law Practice Group over the years.

Mica serves as legal counsel to clients in the aviation and global supply chain industries, representing aircraft owners, pilots, charter jet companies, flight schools, airports, general aviation companies, fixed base operators, air carriers, as well as Aerospace/Aviation manufacturing, technology, and service companies. She has experience assisting clients in defending claims involving aviation business disputes, aircraft contract and ownership transactions, products liability, aviation accidents, personal injury, and wrongful death claims, as well as providing analysis of issues involving aviation expert witness challenges, aircraft valuation and damages, and contract dispute resolution. Mica assists clients through pre-suit negotiations, mediation, arbitration and litigation in State and Federal Courts, and internationally.
She is also a Martindale-Hubbell, AV rated partner and Certified Global Business Professional (NASBITE). She is the Chair of the Charlotte International Arbitration Society (CIAS) and is involved with the NC World Trade Association (Charlotte Chapter). Worthy is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) where she served as the Chair of the International Arbitration Committee and is a member of the Transportation (Aviation) Committee. She graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Campbell University Law School, and the Cologne Academy on International Commercial Arbitration.
