Adam P. O’Brien, a partner at Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP, obtained a complete defense verdict for the property owner of a shopping center in Colorado. Plaintiff presented a claim under Colorado’s Premises Liability Act and sought more than $3,000,000 in damages based on a claim that she slipped and fell on ice. Plaintiff alleged that the property owner and the property’s anchor tenant had notice of a dangerous condition on the property, which caused Plaintiff to suffer personal injuries, noneconomic damages, and permanent impairment. The jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning a complete defense verdict and awarding no damages.
