Womble Carlyle attorney Allen Gibson is the new President of the American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL).
Gibson officially assumed the role of President at the recent ACCL Annual Meeting. He will serve a one-year term. He had served as President-Elect in 2014-15.
Gibson is a Fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers and served on the organization’s Board of Governors from 2007-2010 and as its Treasurer from 2012-2014.
The American College of Construction Lawyers is an invited association of construction law practitioners, professors, and judges. Founded in 1989, its mission is to improve and enhance the practice and understanding of construction law and to promote the positive role of lawyers as “friends of the project.” The College includes lawyers from the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia, and France.
As the Practice Group Leader for Womble Carlyle’s Construction Practice Group, Allen Gibson has more than 30 years of trial experience in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration proceedings. He represents a wide variety of businesses involved in the construction industry including owners, developers, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and sureties. Gibson practices in Womble Carlyle’s Charleston, S.C., office.
