Edgar Y.H. Chen

Edgar Y.H. Chen is a Senior Partner at Tsar & Tsai Law Firm. Mr. Chen has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration, with a practice spanning corporate, employment, construction, and intellectual property disputes, representing leading multinational corporations and financial institutions in complex civil and criminal cases. Before joining the firm in 1997, he served for over a decade as a judge and public prosecutor in various district courts across Taiwan, and as Executive Secretary of the Civil Code Amendment Commission under the Ministry of Justice, contributing to the reform of Taiwan’s Civil Code on the Obligations chapter. Recognized multiple times as a Leading Lawyer and Dispute Star of the Year by asialaw, Edgar holds an S.J.D. from National Taiwan University and dual LL.M. degrees from the University of Michigan Law School and National Taiwan University, and has long been active in Taiwan’s legal community, having served as President of the Taipei Bar Association, President of the Taiwan Bar Association, and President of the Taiwan Law Society.
