In two landmark decisions rendered on April 3rd, 2026, the Belgian Supreme Court crushes two decisions rendered by the ethical appeals tribunal operating within the National Counsel of Belgian Doctors for having condemned two doctors who had publicly questioned the measures taken by the Government to limit the spread of the COVID virus.
Notwithstanding the fact that their opinions were a minority opinion and openly criticize the policy conducted by the sanitary authorities, those contain opinions protected by the fundamental right of freedom of speech.
Paul Lefebvre, a partner at Jansen Lefebvre, filed the two briefs on behalf of the doctors.
