Chad Readler Named Public Member of Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission

Chad Readler, a partner in the Jones Day Columbus office, was named a public member of the recently established Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission.

Composed of 32 members--twelve legislative members and 20 public members--the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission is charged under R. C. 103.61 with:
  • Studying the Constitution of Ohio;
  • Promoting an exchange of experiences and suggestions respecting desired changes in the Constitution;
  • Considering the problems pertaining to the amendment of the Constitution; and
  • Making recommendations from time to time to the General Assembly for the amendment of the Constitution.
The Commission shall make its first report to the General Assembly not later than January 1, 2013, and shall report at least every two years thereafter until its work is completed, on or before July 1, 2021. Among the other public members also named to the Commission were former Governor Bob Taft, former State House Speakers, Jo Ann Davidson and Charles Kurfess, and Ohio Appellate Court Judges, Patrick Fischer and Judith French.
