Christy Jones and Susan Sharko Obtained Defense Verdict in Product Liability Action

Lead Trial Counsel and IADC member Christy D. Jones of Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC, along with IADC member Susan Sharko of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP and assisted by John Winter of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, recently obtained a defense verdict in a product liability action involving the prescription drug Levaquin. The case was tried in New Jersey state court in Atlantic City. Two New Jersey plaintiffs, Robert Beare and Paul Gaffney, sued after suffering tendon problems, claiming that their tendon ruptures were due to Levaquin. The jury agreed that Johnson & Johnson and Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals properly warned physicians of the known association between all fluoroquinolones and tendon problems.​
