IADC members Emily G. Coughlin (Coughlin Betke), Spencer H. Silverglate (Clarke Silverglate), and Jill Cranston Rice (Dinsmore & Shohl) recently spoke at DRI’s 2022 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia on two of the hottest and most controversial topics around – non-lawyer ownership of law firms and the provision of legal services by non-lawyers.

In their panel “No License? No Problem: Why We Should Care that Non-Lawyers are Providing Legal Services and Owning Law Firms” attendees heard about what some states and countries that permit non-lawyers to provide legal services and own law firms are doing. These esteemed panelists explained what is currently happening, what’s on the horizon, and how it may affect practitioners and their clients.

Tad Thomas of Thomas Law Offices also spoke on the panel.
