Resolving Legal Disputes in the Era of COVID-19
Courts are closed. Hearings continued. Civil jury trials are months away. This is the legal world many are in given the coronavirus pandemic. While cases were backlogged and courts were trudging along even before COVID-19, the slow pace to resolving disputes will now be exacerbated. Yet, litigants and their advocates alike desire to move forward in disposing of their cases. Therefore, now, more than ever, alternative dispute resolution is the best way to resolve cases.
With Stay at Home Executive Orders in effect and social distancing expected of everyone, corporations, insurance carriers, and law firms have staff who are working from home. Attorneys, company executives, and insurance professionals are not getting in automobiles, let alone airplanes, to personally attend meetings, settlement conferences, or negotiate cases. Nevertheless, lawyers and clients who embrace technology can still effectively and efficiently – and safely – resolve cases during this pandemic through remote, online mediation and arbitration.
This Webinar will focus on:
- The effect of COVID-19 on resolving litigated cases.
- How arbitration can timely and fairly bring closure to ongoing legal disputes, including matters currently pending in courts or agencies.
