Becoming an Active Ally for Mental Wellness

Thursday, January 26, 2023
01:00 PM - 02:00 PM Central Standard Time (US & Mexico)

Please join the IADC Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee for a panel discussion.

Join the IADC at 1:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, January 26 as we begin 2023 with a discussion focusing on the importance of mental wellness and how to prioritize and understand how to be an active ally to yourself and others in these constantly changing times.

Our post-pandemic world is full of reports and studies showing that mental health, especially within the legal profession, is a grave concern. In response, employers are evaluating and emphasizing their commitment to inclusion and social equity that includes prioritizing employee wellness and satisfaction. Plus, employees from diverse backgrounds can face lack of representation, microaggressions, unconscious bias, and other stressors that impact their mental health and psychological safety at work. Initiatives that support diversity, inclusion, and belonging should also support mental wellness.

Melanie Margolin will lead a discussion with Misty Gaither and James Edward Murray discussing the importance of supporting mental health issues in the workplace and how mental wellness is and can be connected to DEI&B initiatives.
