Climate Change Litigation Across the Globe
Climate change litigation has grown exponentially in recent years as governments, environmental activists, and also individuals seek to hold especially oil and gas companies liable for alleged contributions to and damages caused by climate crisis, and consumer protection associations and investors file Greenwashing claims alleging that companies have misled them by overstating their environmental success. An international panel of presenters from IADC’s Environmental and Energy Law Committee will discuss the developments in climate change litigation, the basis of the claims, the defenses asserted, and future trends expected. The presenters will bring a global perspective from Europe, Central and South America, and the United States.
