Join us as Destiny Peery, a social psychologist and legal scholar, teaches us how to identify and respond to microaggressions (subtle, interpersonal manifestations of bias) and how to confront bias and be an active ally in the workplace. We'll discuss examples of microaggressions common to the legal professions, as well as those factors that might guide how and when to respond to experiences with microaggressions and biases.

Destiny Peery studies identity, bias, and DEI, including their intersections with the law and in spaces within the legal profession. Destiny has been on the faculties of Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and Duke University School of Law. She regularly facilitates workshops on cognitive and implicit biases and diversity and inclusion-related topics across the legal profession and other professional communities, and she has conducted research on diversity in the legal profession with the ABA and other bar associations. Destiny holds a JD and PhD from Northwestern, and she currently serves as the Managing Director of the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice at Harvard Law School.
