On August 26, Gordon & Rees opened a Raleigh, North Carolina office led by longtime Partner Thomas A. Packer, who serves as its Managing Partner.
Packer, who also serves as the firm's general counsel, has handled matters for the past 31 years in the firm's San Francisco and Portland offices. He will be joined by Partner Jeff Melcher and other associates and senior counsel.
Gordon & Rees firmwide managing partner Dion N. Cominos says, "The Research Triangle is one of the nation's fastest-growing areas as well as a dynamic place for business. Having an office in North Carolina fits well into our overall strategic vision and complements our Southeast presence and the strong demand for our services there. Its real bonus for us is that Tom, with his longstanding tenure at the firm, is opening this office."

Having an office in Raleigh, part of the thriving Research Triangle region, allows us to do more for our growing roster of North Carolina-based clients." Packer, who joined the firm in 1982, says the Raleigh office will handle a variety of work with an emphasis on commercial, product liability, and other civil defense litigation and is looking to add several attorneys in the near term.
