IADC Announces 2010 Convention Chairs

Henry and Beth Morrissette Named 2010 Convention Chairs
 
Henry and Beth Morrissette, Mobile, Ala. have been named the 2010 Convention Chairs and will assist planning the Midyear Meeting on February 13-18 in Naples, Fla. and the Annual Meeting on July 10-15 in Barcelona, Spain.
 
Henry is a member of Hand Arendall, L.L.C., a full service law firm with offices throughout the State of Alabama.  Henry represents corporate and individual clients in business litigation, and he represents defendants in life, health, and disability insurance cases, fraud and bad faith cases, products liability cases, and class action cases.  Henry serves as chair of Hand Arendall’s Personal Injury, Insurance, and Employment Practice Group.  He is listed in the Best Lawyers of America and has been selected for inclusion in Alabama Super Lawyers 2009.
 
Henry has been very active in civil defense trial lawyer organizations. He served as President of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA) in 2001. Prior to his Presidency, he served as Secretary-Treasurer and as a Director. He also served as Alabama State Representative (2002-2005) to the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and is active on the Life, Health & Disability Committee of the DRI.
 
Henry has been very active in the IADC as well, serving most recently on the Membership Committee and as Vice Chair of Newsletters for the Trial Techniques and Tactics Committee. He also has served as a First Timer Host.
 
A lifelong community volunteer, Beth has been active as an officer and board member for a number of community and civic organizations. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Southwest Alabama. She will be Major Gifts Chair in 2010 and General Chair of the 2011 United Way Campaign.  Beth is also serving on the state board of Voices for Alabama’s Children. In 2007-2008, Beth was President of the Junior League of Mobile and Chair of the Board of Directors.
 
After a successful career in pharmaceutical sales with Eli Lilly and Company, Beth now works part-time in sales and marketing for a family-owned business, Manufacturer’s Packaging Services, selling commercial and industrial packaging and shipping supplies.
 
Beth has offered her time and energy as photographer at the IADC Annual and Midyear Meetings and also serves on the IADC’s Social Media Task Force and is leading the efforts to create an IADC Facebook presence.
 
We are so pleased to have Henry and Beth give of their time, talent and energy to create memorable Midyear and Annual Meetings in 2010.
