Jennifer Snyder Heis, partner at Ulmer & Berne LLP, has been named to Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2021 list of “Women Worth Watching,” an award that energizes, inspires, and recognizes women who have demonstrated high levels of leadership.
Active in the community, Heis currently serves as an Advisory Board Member of Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, a group that connects volunteer attorneys with nonprofits to provide them with high-quality legal services so they can focus their limited resources on their important missions. Previously, she served for five years on the Grant Review Committee of Impact 100, an organization that awards transformational grants to nonprofits in the Cincinnati area.
Heis works to advance the skills of other attorneys, and is a longtime member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the nation’s leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel. For the last seven years, she has served as a member of DRI’s Law Institute, which is charged with guiding the development and implementation of DRI’s vast educational offerings. She also helps lead DRI’s Product Liability and Drug & Medical Device Committees, and will serve as Chair of DRI’s national Drug & Medical Device Seminar in 2022 and 2023 after serving for two years as the seminar’s Vice Chair. She is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, an invitation-only group of the world’s leading corporate defense attorneys, and serves as Vice Chair of its Drug, Device & Biotechnology Committee.
An accomplished litigator, Heis focuses her practice on product liability, pharmaceutical, medical device, and mass tort litigation. She defends manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceutical products and dietary supplements, and has represented these companies in complex litigation across the country. Her experience extends to a wide variety of industries including consumer products and construction and industrial machinery. She also counsels food and dietary supplement companies on regulatory issues such as labeling and risk management. Recognized for her talent and skill, Heis has been named to The Best Lawyers in America© for Product Liability Litigation - Defendants.
