IADC member Jim Rogers and Richard North, both partners at Nelson Mullins, along with their partner Kate Helm, recently received a defense verdict in a product liability trial. The case concerned an implantable medical device known as an inferior vena cava filter, which is designed to prevent pulmonary embolism.
The case was the second bellweather trial in an MDL pending in Phoenix. After three weeks of trial, the jury rendered a complete defense verdict after approximately twelve hours of deliberations.
