John T. Lay has been a litigator for almost 20 years and has tried nearly 100 cases to verdict. He serves as lead counsel to clients in federal and state courts and has handled appeals at the South Carolina Court of Appeals, South Carolina Supreme Court, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and United States Supreme Court. Lay has been selected as a South Carolina Super Lawyer for four consecutive years (2008-2011). McCants’ practice focuses on construction and commercial law, including bankruptcy law. He has served as lead counsel in federal and state trial and appellate courts. He is very experienced in jury trials, non-jury trials, mediation, and arbitration.
