Matthew S. Brown, a partner at Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP, has been appointed by the Ohio Speaker of the House to the Ohio Election Integrity Commission for an initial two-year term. The Commission commences in 2026 after being established as a successor to the Ohio Election Commission by the General Assembly. Matthew is a litigation attorney who helps businesses and organizations navigate complex business disputes, focusing on straightforward processes, scheduling discipline, and practical case management. Those skills align with the Commission’s charge to enforce Ohio’s campaign-finance and election-law regulations, reflected in the Secretary of State’s December 23, 2025, leadership update and the Legislative Service Commission’s commission summary.

The Election Integrity Commission replaces the former Ohio Elections Commission effective January 1, 2026.
