Michael Marick, a name partner in the Chicago-based law firm of Meckler Bulger Tilson Marick & Pearson, LLP, has been elected to membership in the American Law Institute (ALI). Marick is one of only 68 newly elected members nationwide, including other leading lawyers, judges, and law professors.

The ALI is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. ALI was created in 1923 to promote the clarification and simplification of the law and its better adaptation to social needs, to secure the better administration of justice, and to encourage and carry on scholarly and scientific legal work.

By participating in the Institute's work, its distinguished members - including 4,300 lawyers, judges, and law professors - have the opportunity to influence the development of the law in both existing and emerging areas, to work with other eminent lawyers, judges, and academics, to give back to a profession to which they are deeply dedicated, and to contribute to the public good.

Marick is a founding member of Meckler Bulger Tilson Marick & Pearson (MBT), a 100-attorney firm widely known for its nationwide insurance coverage and bad faith practice. For more than 30 years, he has represented insurers across the country in high exposure disputes over liability coverage at the claim stage, in trial courts, and on appeal. Marick has represented insurers in a broad range of coverage and bad faith matters, including toxic torts, environmental matters, professional liabilities, and many other types of losses.
