During its virtual Annual Meeting in July, Mitchell Smith was elected to the Executive Committee of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (NARTC) for a three-year term expiring in 2023. The NARTC is a 64-year-old association that is devoted exclusively to serving the rail industry’s litigation needs and is composed of 700 members from throughout the United States. The Executive Committee serves as the NARTC’s governing board. Mitchell has been active in NARTC activities for many years, and he is a loyal supporter of its annual Special Litigation Conference (a/k/a “the Ski Meeting”). Mitchell serves also on the NARTC’s COVID-19 Response Committee.
Mitchell maintains an active practice representing clients in the transportation industry as well as handling a busy commercial litigation practice, primarily in the energy sector. He is Chair of the IADC’s Transportation Committee and Vice Chair-Communications of the Insurance/Reinsurance Committee.
