Professional Liability Roundtable to Discuss Design Professionals' Liability to Non-clients

The 2012 IADC Professional Liability Roundtable will be on Thursday, May 17 from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. at The Gleacher Center at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Design Professionals' Liability to Non-clients
Over the past decade, we have seen an expansion of claims against design professionals by parties that are strangers to the contract governing the design services. The most common theories have been negligence, breach of contract (based on third-party beneficiary theories), and misrepresentation. We will explore the evolving nature of these claims, industry trends, relevant case law, and ways to mitigate exposure to such claims.
