Prominent Life Sciences Litigator William F. Goodman, III Joins Bradley Arant Boult Cummings

Nationally known life sciences litigator William F. Goodman, III has joined Bradley Arant Boult Cummings as a partner. With more than 35 years in practice, Mr. Goodman has served as lead national defense counsel to life sciences companies involved in complex commercial and personal injury litigation.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Goodman has represented clients in major pharmaceutical, chemical exposure, class action, and commercial litigation cases, often involving thousands of claims. Most notably, he successfully defended Bayer in the country’s second and third trials involving the prescription medicine Baycol. Mr. Goodman has also served as co-national counsel for a pharmaceutical manufacturer in cases alleging that autism was caused by a thimerosal-containing prescription drug and biologic products. Along with Mr. Stroble, he has been an integral part of the defense team in extensive litigation involving a genetically modified crop.

Mr. Goodman serves on the Defense Research Institute’s Drug and Device Steering Committee and is a member of the Millsaps College Board of Trustees. He has been nationally ranked in product liability by Chambers USA-America's Leading Lawyers in Business since 2008 and is listed in the current edition of the International Who's Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers. Mr. Goodman is also listed in Best Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation, and Super Lawyers. He holds a J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law and a B.A., cum laude, from Millsaps College.
