IADC member Sandra Corbett, QC, a partner at Field Law LLP, is being presented with DRI's Mary Massaron Award for the Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession at the Women in the Law Networking Lunch at the DRI Annual Meeting on Friday, October 6, 2017.
Award Criteria are as follows:
This nominee shall be a DRI member who has demonstrated a high regard for diversity by demonstrating two or more of the following: 1) A commitment to the spirit of diversity and, in particular, the inclusion of women, through its outside counsel panels; 2) Behavior which illustrates commitment to inclusion of women within the institution; 3) Demonstrated dedication and commitment to advocating the inclusion and promotion of women in the legal profession through activity that has a visible, tangible, or measurable impact on the perception of, attitude toward, respect for, and treatment of women; 4) Leadership in the development of contemporary measures to fight gender discrimination and prejudice in the profession; and 5) A commitment to fostering women’s initiatives and actively promoting positive mentoring relationships with other women in the legal profession.
Sandra's practice focuses on resolution of complex tort and liability matters in the civil and commercial litigation areas, with an emphasis on insurance defence litigation. She defends high-exposure claims arising from product liability, municipal and school liability, serious accidents, fire loss, and business interruption. She also defends insurers in insurance coverage disputes and regularly provides advice to U.S. law firms and manufacturers requiring cross-border litigation assistance.
