Board certification recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated specialized knowledge, skills, and proficiency in a particular area of law, as well as professionalism and ethical practice. Certification requires substantial experience in the specialty, a rigorous examination, peer review, and ongoing continuing legal education.
Florida Bar Board Certified Business Litigation attorneys comprise an exceptionally small group of specialists. Only 213 lawyers in Florida hold this certification—less than one-quarter of one percent of all Florida attorneys.
The Business Litigation certification is among The Florida Bar’s most selective credentials and is widely recognized by judges, sophisticated business clients, and law firms handling complex commercial disputes. Under Florida Bar rules, only board-certified attorneys may identify themselves as “experts” or “specialists” in their certified practice area.
