Toyja E. Kelley Is Elected President of the Maryland Defense Counsel

At its Annual Meeting on June 5, the Maryland Defense Counsel installed Toyja E. Kelley, a partner with Tydings & Rosenberg, as its president. Mr. Kelley has been an active member of the organization's board of directors since 2005 as well as the executive committee since 2010.

Mr. Kelley concentrates his practice in general commercial, construction, professional and product liability, business torts, and insurance coverage litigation in Maryland and the District of Columbia. In 2011, Mr. Kelley was elected to the Defense Research Institute's national board of directors. In 2010, The Daily Record named Mr. Kelley one of its 40 professionals under 40 who were making a difference in the community. He has been named by Maryland Super Lawyers magazine as a "Rising Star" for the last three years.

The Maryland Defense Counsel (MDC) is a 600 plus-member statewide association comprised of civil defense attorneys who represent the interests of the state defense bar. MDC is the local affiliate of the Defense Research Institute.
