Health and Safety Requirements in Chicago
We know attendees are assessing the effects of the Delta variant on their travel plans so we wanted to provide you current information on Chicago so you can make informed decisions. IADC takes the health and safety of all members seriously, and we will follow all CDC guidance and local and state requirements for the Annual Meeting and Professional Liability Roundtable.
Chicago remains fully open and city and state government recommends, but doesn’t require, all people over 2 years old (vaccinated and un-vaccinated) to wear masks in indoor public spaces. Mask-wearing is common in Chicago. Some businesses are starting to require mask wearing again, and certain venues, such as concert venues and bars where people are close to each other, are starting to institute proof of vaccination for entry. At this time, the city does not have plans to close anything down due to the pandemic.
At present (as of August 7), 62.7% of those eligible in Illinois (and 59% within Chicago) have had at least one dose of the vaccine. The test positivity rate in Chicago is currently 3.6% and COVID-related hospitalizations are low.
The IADC will have masks and hand sanitizer on hand and will be working with the hotel to ensure our meeting is set up with any and all social distancing and safety protocols required. Please note that the Annual Meeting Theme Party, held offsite, will be outdoors.
Meeting attendees will receive an email from us before the Annual Meeting and Professional Liability Roundtable for current policies and information. We look forward to safely seeing you in-person!
